| MicroCount
Accounting Systems was founded in 1991 by two independent accounting system
consultants.
Consultants Robert Cavanaugh and Daniel Gordon
partnered to provide accounting
software systems that were both easy to use and priced right for small
business. With the increasing use of computers in all types of business,
Robert and Dan recognized the importance of making reliable and friendly business software
readily available along with the knowledge and assistance
required for a smooth implementation. Over the years, technology and products have evolved, Mr. Gordon has moved on to specialize in network and internet technologies , with Robert assuming the principal position at MicroCount. To this day, MicroCount still strives to meet our ideal of choosing software products that are both reliable and easy to use. This is why MicroCount has chosen to represent BusinessWorks Accounting Software as our cornerstone in small business accounting software solutions.

Robert Cavanaugh, while
studying Business and Accounting at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan,
acquired an interest in computers by working at the US Army & Air
Force Exchange Service in the Data Processing Branch. The function of the
Data Processing Branch was to process all accounting and inventory
transactions for the exchange stores and the mail order operation.
Returning to the United States in 1974, Robert strengthened his business skills at WUI/TAS, a division of Western Union International, by serving as Administrative Manager responsible for accounting and administrative functions for seven branch offices. In 1979, skills were combined to begin nine years of accounting system conversion and associated consulting for ADP Accounting Services clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. While at ADP, the personal computer was introduced to the small business user. Robert was a member of a special team assigned to educate ADP employees and clients to the new PC and the related ADP PC products. After leaving ADP, Robert continued to work with small businesses and accounting as Business Manager/Controller for Barbara Beckmann Designs, accounting and inventory consulting for Itel Rail and PLM International. Other projects completed were accounting & administrative consulting at the Multi-Cultural Research division of Bayview Hunter’s Point Foundation and as a team member testing and installing a new accounting/time & billing system for law firm Farella, Braun & Martel. Robert also served on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Small Business Network from 1986 to 1995 as well as being actively involved with other business organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Golden Gate Business Association. MicroCount was founded in 1991 by merging the compatible beliefs and resources of Daniel Gordon and Robert Cavanaugh. |
